Island Cartoons
Kangaroo Island Courier (Kingscote, SA : 1907 - 1951), Saturday 14 June 1913, page 4
The bespectacled artist / illustrator / cartoonist / caricaturist E. G. Walker (a.k.a. "Tolly") made his impression on Kangaroo Island as a resident from 1911-1913 and the Kangaroo Island Courier published 14 of his cartoons. Each has been allocated its own page.
Obviously all the people depicted in the cartoons would have been known to the residents at the time, and so he probably ruffled a few feathers. (See Island Cartoon 5, and his letter in a news article below). Walker seems to have left the Island in October 1913.
If modern readers can identify any of the figures, we will add your comments.
