The Kingscote Table Tennis Club commenced the 1950 season on the 11th May at the Old School which the club has been fortunate enough to engage for a small monthly fee. From a small beginning the Club has gradually increased in membership, financial members at present being 23 men and 10 ladies, at 5/ each.

At present no Association matches are played, but weekly competitions are held with each player playing an equal number of games against opponents whose names are drawn from a hat, and prizes being awarded to the Lady and Gent with the highest number of points at the conclusion of play.

Most successful competitors this season among the ladies have been Miss Phoebe Roberts (6 wins), Mrs Ray Griffith (2 wins) and Mrs L. Higgins (2 wins). Among the men L. Higgins 4 wins and Ray Griffith 3 wins. Winners for last week 27/7/50 were Miss P. Roberts and Mr J. Northcott. For each competition a player wins, his handicap is reduced by 2 points. Supper is enjoyed each night and the social atmosphere is a very happy one. The Club has an enthusiastic Committee and it is proposed to hold an open Tournament at the end of the season. Details will be announced at a later date, so read your paper and be an interested spectator, if not a member of this enjoyable sport—Table Tennis.
