Signs
Since its inception the Association has been involved with initiating, commissioning, installing and maintaining special interpretive and memorial signs in cemeteries and at significant sites all over Kangaroo Island as well on the mainland.
We have worked closely in conjunction with other authorities, such as the Kangaroo Island Council, National Parks South Australia, HistorySA, Department of State Aboriginal Affairs, community associations and families of descendants of pioneers. We always carefully research the issues to ensure that the wording on any sign is as appropriate and accurate as possible. We are active in securing grants that periodically are made available and satisfying the often complex criteria for those grants.
To assist in the ongoing management and maintenance of these signs, the following register has been created. It is very much a work in progress. If you have anything to contribute, including reporting any damage or deterioration, please contact the Webmaster or our Secretary.
