He joined the RAAF aged 15 as an apprentice instrument fitter, trained in Wagga, and then was based at Amberley.

b. 10 May 1964 d. 03 Feb 1984 (aged 19) Motor cycle accident at Amberley.

Steven was the son of a soldier settler Bertram John (Jack) GUM who was also in the RAAF.
