District Councils

The proclamation by the South Australian Parliament of the District Councils Act 1887 was made on 5 January 1888

Kingscote (5 Jan 1888 - 1996)

Dudley (7 Jun 1888 - 1996)

In 1996, the two councils were amalgamated to create the Kangaroo Island Council.
