Toc H

1930 A group of 'Toc H' was started at Penneshaw on Saturday last. Mr. W. A. Cave. State Registrar came over from the Mainland, and gave a lecture illustrated by Slides. Rev. M. Robinson assisted in the lecture. Immediately after the lecture, several young men were initiated, and were presented with their temporary symbol of ' Toc H,' The Rushlight. The task these young men have set themselves is to pledge themselves to keep active the memory of all who have fallen in Service, with special reference to the sacrifice of the great war. They reply in their initiation, to the question ' What is Service' ? Service is the rent we pay for our room on earth.
